MTN Uganda has strengthened its grip on the mobile networks market, growing its new customer base by more than 500,000 in the past four months to hit 20 million in Uganda.
The telecom company’s subscribers stood at 19.5million as at the end of December 31, 2023, according to its annual financial results.
“This achievement underscores our commitment to connect all of Uganda. Together, we have proven that no goal is too ambitious when we work together towards a common purpose,” said Sylvia Mulinge, the chief executive officer at MTN Uganda.
MTN Group Vice President – Southern & Eastern Africa, Yolanda Cuba, said “MTN Uganda’s achievement of 20 million customers is the equivalent of the entire population of a sister market. This is how big this milestone is. “
MTN Uganda started its operation in the east African nation in 1998.
