Believe me, Johnny Drille stole the show last evening at the 30th edition of Blankets and Wine. The 33-year-old Nigerian crooner had the crowd singing, dancing, and hanging onto every song he performed. And when he sung Enrique Iglesis’ Hero, he was truly the hero of the night. He teamed up with Aka Dope and, together, they served doses of dope music.
The event ticked all the boxes it’s renowned for. Folks dressed to proverbial nines with a gaggle of camera-lugging photographers freezing every moment. Hospitality tents gave revelers an experience to remember. And as for music? Well, the lineup proved doubters wrong.
The day saw performances from the dynamic duo of Mellow & Sleazy, Kenya’s Blinky Bill, rising star Agaba Banjo, the talented Izabel, Carsten Yesuanjagala, DJs Lito, Vee, & Bugy. Big Trill pushed harder when he jumped on stage and rolled back the years with his classic bangers. Together with Mun*G, they took us on a voyage down the memorable lane.
Swangz Avenue’s Vinka would later shut down Lugogo Cricket Oval with her energetic performance and earworm songs.
Blankets and Wine is sponsored by Tusker Cider and organized by House of DJs, among other hosts of partners.
